" It will not pass post cat heater readiness tests with O2 simms."
I saw this on another forum. They were talking about FLP's. Is this so and are there another issues that need to be dealt with? What will cause failure to pass, other than failure to establish communications and codes?
This is for cars that have the ORP's installed. If you are running ORP's then you need to install the cats for your emission test in order to pass. You will be taking a big chance and won't pass with ORP's.
If you have 02 sims, there should be no codes with or without cats.
I looked around the various forums I know of, and couldn't find what you were seeing. Even though I have the cats on, I do have 02 sims installed, and would like to know myself if/how/why they would cause it to fail. It should pass the dyno sniff test with no problems, but I guess now they just tie into the computer to test it? my understanding was if the car wasn't showing codes, it's good to go. Mine doesn't.
I dunno, but mine doesn't have to go through till Oct '04 so I have while to not worry about it. :D
Had my car tested last month on the new system. My car was stock at the time. I had been messing around with LS1Edit and killed the battery the night before. When I jumped it off I had a check engine light and every code in the book flashed on the DIC. I started her up 3 times before leaving the house, which cleared the check engine light. She was running kinda rough but it still passed the test. The test took about 30 to 40 seconds. The guy doing the test told me they were checking for codes and to see if I had cleared or disabled any. I asked him which codes they were looking for and he either didn't know or wouldn’t tell me.
