Default Rear Window Weatherstrip

It was a matter of time. The weather strip at both corners have split apart. The rubber is in excellant condition however is it possible to glue the corners. It looks like the rubber has "shrunk" at the corner and really has to be held closed for the 3M glue to hold.

Has anyone tried a repair that works or do I have to buy a new rear window weatherstrip. $$$

If a repair is not possible, whats the best type of rubber to buy. Something better then original must be available.

Thanks,

You might get betteranswers in the C4 Forum. I fixed my '91 weatherstrip withe black auto silicone adhesive you see in tubes at car stores; worked and didn't look too bad either.

I had the same problem. The weathertstrip was in good conditions, but at the edges the stripe broke. I tried to glue, but was not happy with the results. I just ordered the rear strip for about 85 $ at Ecklers (and the side strips of the roof). I guess you can get it cheaper from a forum vendor.
