Default Turn signal

Turn signal working intermittently. Works good for awhile then stops, then doesn't work at all. No rhyme or reason.

Your hazard switch is going bad.

Agree with Monty. It's not always the case, but it usually is. OP, try pushing your 4 way button on and off while turning, or in the driveway, somewhere safe you can monitor a change, if any. The main problem with the 4 way switch (next to being in a HELLACIOUS location to R&R), is its never used. Like anything else, if you never use it, sooner or later, it will go bad.....

@jhog01 If it is, get my advice, do NOT replace the hazard switch, the aftermarket available are worse than the original and will force you to remove the mess a second time to place back the OEM, the Dorman failed after 20h. Just buy an hyper flash harness, and install it, it takes 1/4 of the time and is solving the problem.

I agree that a hyperflash harness is much easier to install. However, I've never heard of that solving the issue of a bad hazard switch.

@MWWarlord you are absolutely right, the hyper flash harness does not replace a bad hazard switch for the hazard function. In my case, somehow similar to the OP, the turn signals function was randomly affected, the hazard function was working almost perfectly....and actually resetting the turn signals as proposed by grinder11.
I replaced mine by a Dorman, which failed, also on the hazard after 15-20h. I was forced to go back with the OEM I kept, and hyper flash harness. The hazard function works from the hazard switch and the turn signal function works from the hyperflash harness from Sharp Light Innovation.
This is what I wanted to express. sorry for the confusion and thank you for noticing, which pushed to have a better explanation.
in my case, I could say only - for now - the turn signal function of the hazard switch was going bad.

Yep. I found out that same thing - hyperflash harness cured my turn signal issue with the hazard switch.

MUCH easier to swap.

Thanks for the info. Pushing the the flasher button helped my turn signals. I plan on changing my lights to LEDs soon. So I will be getting a kit if possible. Any recommendations.

If you go LED turn signals, you will need the hyperflash harness no matter what.

I have the laser LED front turn signals, currently offered for sale from Vette Lights and am really pleased with them.

I had the same issue, installed the hyper flash harness and it fixed the turn signal issue. I also installed the Vette Lights Laser turns up front and love them....no more turn signal issues

The only downside to the hyperflash harness is if you’re a weirdo like me and really like the OEM old school flasher sound you lose that. The hyperflash harness has that more modern sounding turn signal noise

Never used them till they told me to try them and turn the steering wheel. They work alright and my turn signals work now..
