Are you also getting "Reduce Power" error message on the dash? What codes is it throwing?
Next time it happens open your doors and wiggle the wire loom between the door and body of the car. The connectors get corroded, the pins get out of alignment or in my case I had a worn/bare wire causing a short.
Also clean your grounds and check battery for tight connection. Start with underhood ground connections just behind the headlights.
Thanks it does do the wiggle wires on the door occasionally.
ill check codes next time.
Yes it does the reduced power also when the guages zero
I just responded to two separate posts. Couldn't figure out what happened to my first response. Now I see you have two. Similar message from my end. So I deleted the other..
Not really following your response about wiggling the wires. If you've had to do this in the past for electrical issues your culprit is under that loom.
The space is tight but I was able to locate a tiny pen point sized wear hole on one wire on the passenger side. Funny thing is my passenger seat was rarely sat in and yet the issue occurred on that side of the car.
If you have a worn wire like I did (as have others). I wrapped in electrical tape and issue hasn't occurred since 2008.(be sure to wrap the individual wire or use a shrink wrap. You can't just wrap the bare wire to other wires. It won't fix the issue)
