Best fix for this is to install ls6 valley may need to modify block for fit . And install z06 vacuum harness . Short harness from t/b to valley block off both rear valve cover ports w/vacuum caps or tee one side into new harness for sufficiant crankcase vent . Did myself 2 hours tops

Sorry guys but I think I'm missing something here... If the oil is not trapped by the filter where is it going and what damage is being done?

Black C5

It goes straight into the intake and gets routed to each cylinder!!! You will also see it as as a nasty mess on the back of your throttle body blade.

That is why alot of people are doing MODs to collect it prior to it getting into the intake.

The LS6 has a new and improved PVC system. I guess GM got wise to the fact that it was a problem! My mod will be installed SOON

Any time that you add engine oil to the combustion process it isn't a good thing. The oil from the PVC system gets past the PVC baffel when you do alot of high revs on your engine. Under daily driving you only get a small amount. I dont want any so I'm going to do the mod. You may see some in your intake manifold if you remove the air bridge, block the throttle open and look inside with a flash light.

Does it hurt anything???? Ehh,, I doubt it if you only drive normally. I drive HARD  DAILY!!!! I do get alot of oil in the intake :yesnod:

Look inside your intake and form your own opinion. Let us know what you find and if you want the MOD.

I also did the mod to my 2000 a few months ago. If I'm hard on the throttle, it seems to be collecting oil. Anything less than WOT and its mainly condensation.

Dave

What mod are you talking about that needs block grinding? I was just going to add the in-line filter in the PVC hose. If there is something that Im missing please let me know. What do I look for on LS1.com?

Interested!
