Thanks for all the advice! Greico Chevrolet Delray Beach Florida found the problem. It was the high side tube routing making contact with the low side line wearing a hole in the high side tube. It’s where the air conditioning and heating lines all intersect. Again I’ll warn C5 owners to check they’re air conditioning hi & low side lines to make sure the lines are routed separate and not wearing a hole in one or the other lines. I also have to let readers know Greico Chevy in Delray Beach Florida has at least 20 low mileage C6 and C7 Corvettes on the lot with no shortage of C8s.
C&S CORVETTE in Sarasota Florida had a used high side line and was shipped arriving the next day. C&S CORVETTE has just about any part you need. I did find brand new lines available after I ordered the used one. I ordered an new orfice (strainer) from Amazon. Greico Chevy installed the new hi side tube and charged the unit restoring the air conditioning to as good as new. It was the advice of members that sent me to the dealer. I could not find an air conditioning shop in Delray Beach, mostly we do air and everything else. Walking into the service area both visits and finding my car and Jason a super mechanic at Greico Chevy showed me in real time repairs needed. I was able to follow the repairs while I waited for the car. Thousands of Thanks.
A lot of times dealers get bad wraps. It isn’t the “dealer” that’s the issue it’s the technicians. Once you find one that is knowledgeable with C5’s don’t let them go!
there’s actually a dealer in arkansas that has a “specialty” area that only works on “older” corvettes. One of the techs at this dealer posts videos online all the time about what he is working on. Truly amazing the knowledge he has about C5’s.

I don't doubt there are good dealers out there who do employ honest, skilled techs, some call them Corvette techs. Ive only experienced 1 "Corvette Tech". The experience sucked. I also believe it is on the dealer who he employs in his dealership. If you've got people who aren't honest, or know what the Hell they're doing, you as the owner are the only one who can get rid of them, and hire more competent employees. The buck stops at the owner in ANY business........
I disagree. While it very well could be the compressor I wouldn't start throwing parts at it without a proper diagnosis. It could be as simple as a bad Schrader valve in one of the pressure ports, or a bad O-Ring. Throwing a new compressor at it would be a needless expense that would do nothing to fix the problem if it's not the compressor in the first place.
I also disagree with just blindly pumping fresh refrigerant into it. It may temporarily fix the warm air problem, but that refrigerant doesn't just wear out or evaporate over time-- it got out somehow. Any new refrigerant will just get out the same way and OP will be right back where they started.
I suggest getting a can or two of R134a that has UV dye in it. It will still leak out eventually, but the UV dye will allow for either OP or an AC shop to find and correct the leak. The C5 air conditioning system isn't cosmic and doesn't require any kind of specialized AC shop to diagnose and properly fix. Pretty much any competent shop that does AC work will be able to properly handle the job.

i think we are saying the same thing!
but I just don’t like the blanket rule of “dealers suck.” Many good dealers out there with amazing people that work hard and do their best to do honest work. (As you can tell, I’ve worked at dealers in the past.)

Yes, I agree I shouldn't throw a blanket over every dealer claiming they're bad. But I did go on to say I didnt doubt there are many good dealers out there. But shame on a dealer who doesn't keep tabs on his employees, when it's easier than ever now that you can post reviews online.
