Can you use a solid pulley alternator as a replacement on an auto decoupler pulley 99 corvette? I noticed when its hot outside 107 degrees or heated 90 degree 1hr+ trips that the original alternator goes down to 13.0-12.9 on the DIC. It could be just the DIC the last time i checked when the gauge cluster read 13.5-13.7 the actual fuse box fuses read 14.2-14.3 volts with a probe meter. Is there alternator codes that the car would throw for a failing alternator?
So the autozone 110amp is 205$+30$ core solid pulley it appears. Can you put the later model 145amp on a 99 corvette and not get any high voltage codes an 04-13 alternator 145 amp is the same throughout all the years.
Is there a way to rebuild the factory alternator or have it rebuilt?

Will a 2004 corvette duralast 145amp auto decoupler pulley alternator work on a 99 corvette? This is the cheapest option at 219.99$ no core. Duralast Alternator DL2326-6-2 (autozone.com)

You can use whatever pulley you want. The decoupler pulley was a running design change and as far as I can tell it makes no real-world difference. I would forget about the DIC reading and go by the actual reading at the battery, provided that your battery reading is constant (within reason)
As an aside, if you have a decoupler pulley on your car it should have a plastic cap covering it. Pop the cap off and if the face is full of powdery rust in it it's on its way to failing.
I rebuilt alternators professionally for over 40 years and replacing failed decoupler pullies was a common occurence.
I replaced the original decoupler pulley on the original alternator 94k miles last year with a new continental decoupler pulley. It was dried crispy shook and made that marbling sound no grease as well as the odler tensioner pulleys. I was able to pop the seal off the idler, tensioner pulleys and add some grease theyre about 20$ each but most of the noise was from the vibrating loose no grease alternator rice crispy sound when you put a 3/8" hose up to the decoupler pulley bearing running. I have an extra zoom decoupler pulley -04 corvette if it gives me problems. Someone on ebay had alot of them for fairly cheap new 20$ new old stock.
For a 99 corvette autozone only has 2 110amp options and look to be solid pulley for an 04 they have the 145amp which id prefer auto decoupler pulley alternator for 195$ or 219$ no core and lifetime warranty so unlimited returns if it gives me problems. There would be a SES light if it did have low voltage? In the winter it stays around 13.5 on the DIC but like i said at the underhood fuse box with a good probe meter they all read 14.2-14.3 volts while the gauge cluster would read 13.7 volts.
It is the original 99 alternator 94k miles why i was thinking it may need replacement. A 145 amp isn't know to cause high voltage issues on a 99 is it?
It's not that more amperage will cause the wrong voltage, it's that these cars are very very picky about their power supply and people have the best luck using the original hardware, rebuilt, rather than new hardware of unknown provenance.

The DIC essentially gets its voltage from the ignition switch not directly from the battery. The voltage across the battery is the alternators output voltage. So if it's steady the alternator is fine.
