Telescoping Steering Wheel Soft Stops
One of the small issues I have had with my 2000 is the shortness of the telescoping travel. I drive with my arms stretched just a little bit more than
I would like. The wheel needs to be just a little closer despite my knees already almost touching the bolster.
I was doing an unrelated search on at https://www.corvetteactioncenter.com and saw the Interior category. I decided to just surf and see what items
might have had TSB's on them and I saw this:
https://www.corvetteactioncenter.com...ravel-883.html
It mentions that during assembly soft stops are built in the software to prevent over-travel that may damage the system. It is a matter of simply pushing
or pulling the travel switch 6 times to remove the stops. So I decided to give it a try. And it worked!!! Having had the wheel as close as I could get it
previously, the wheel came out approx 2" more to a much less stretched out arm length!!
Hope this helps someone else.
Paul
