24lbs for an LS6 flywheel sounds correct. I think my Fidanza came in around 10-12lb. I remember it being around a 14lb decrease from stock.
For me the Fidanza (198571) I have was the opposite of above. At about 13.7 lbs in weight. So about 10lbs savings over the original LS6 and 16 lbs over the current LS "OEM" clutch flywheel referred to as the LS7 clutch.
Weight of the Fidanza directly from their site =13.7 lbs

VERY noticeable weight savings in the revs over either OEM flywheel. Changes driving characteristics significantly.
Maybe thats where the 14 came from. Still a good improvement.
I just looked back through my photos. The Fidanza was 12.6lb. Stock clutch/flywheel assembly was 49.2lb vs the Fidanza flywheel Luk combination of 37.0lb.
More info. According to SDPC, the steel LS7 flywheel is 26lbs, and they offer a compatible aluminum wheel at 16lbs. Perhaps the other reference included shipping weight…?
In any event, the LS7 flywheel has raised edges to mitigate clutch failure scatter, so I’m not sure if another aftermarket flywheel would mate with this clutch.

Nice work! The 13.7 must be with shipping box. To your point substantial difference either way. Significantly noticeable when driving.
I didnt notice more effort staring from a stop, but I think the biggest things I noticed were the RPM drops during shifts on the street. It needs a little more throttle to maintain a smooth shift. On track it revs much quicker which is nice too.

Similar experience with my smaller 10.5" SPEC clutch with aluminum PP and 10.5" aluminum FW. Taking off from a light is negligible but in between shifts RPMs drop a little quicker.
Thank you gentlemen for all the information! I think something stock weight or a little less is what I am after. That in mind, here is the best price/performance compromise I have found so far.
SDPC LS7 Clutch/upgraded RAM flywheel $725 At 19lbs for the RAM flywheel I should come in around 44lbs total weight, so about 5-6lbs lighter than stock. Nothing drastic, but not heavier either. https://sdparts.com/i-23179965-sdpc-...%7Cyear%3D2002
Interested to learn how well the Lux trans mount works for you.
I’m not into hard launches, but maybe a power shift occasionally, and I did feel a little shutter. I wasn’t sure if that was tire spin or drivetrain shudder…

Ill let you know. If I have it correctly, the Lux is a little less rigid of the options. I get some wheel hop and shudder on hard launches, this supposedly helps with that. It was worse when I had the Nitto DRs on it.
I just replaced my stock ls6 clutch on my 04 z06 with the ls7 clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate and new slave/throwout and it drives extremely well. I have a fidanza short throw, and when I shift I feel like I'm shifting a bit more weight around but I don't know if that's just because my stock components were completely thrashed but it feels so solid now and I feel more confident with the car. Fwiw, this cost me 2800 dollars at a dealership who did the work and ordered the components for me.
