Factory Code C1243 BPMV with dash ABS etc
Hi
I'm new to the site and had a question regarding factory code C1243 Brake Pressure Modulation (BPMV) Pump Motor Stalled.
Some background, I have a 2000 Corvette Coupe and I've been having intermittent amber dash lights staying on for ABS and Active Handling. I took it to my local Chevy dealer and they said I have an Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) problem, but they didn't provide me any factory codes. So I did some research - dealer told me that the part was no longer available and I should look for one at a salvage company, internet says you can't repair a 1997-2000 EBCM, I looked at my part and it is a V, which is for both the ABS and Active Handling and it's harder to come by than the M which is ABS. I found a Corvette salvage place 1 hour from my home, and Sean put on the scanner and it showed no current codes but in history there was C1243 Brake Pressure Modulation (BPMV) Pump Motor Stalled, and he said I needed to replace the pump that is attached to the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM), I was going down the wrong rabbit hole.
So, I guess what I'm asking is has anyone had this same problem code C1243 and how did you find the used part to make the repair. We're you able to just buy the pump or did you need to buy the pump and EBCM.
I'd appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks.

If your friends scan tool has bidirectional capability he can turn the pump on and off with the scan tool and maybe get it working again…I exercise mine every few months just to keep everything working.
Thanks C5 Diag
I'll ask him, although he's 1 hour drive away. But if it fixes the issue it would be well worth it. I don't know what you mean exercise 'mine every few months', are you referring to the pump?
Thanks for the tip

If the pumpmotor is stuck maybe due to lack of rotation it can be possible to excercise with a charger /powersupply shown in this CF post .
This post is showing a rear mounted EBCM in the back of the car 98 , while your 2000 (like mine 2000) is front mounted in the engine bay .
But the way of excersising the motor is similar with a charger/powersupply .
It's a good routine to excersise the ABS pump before it get stuck and causing C 1243 code
You may try this also "I got the same code along with ABS and TC warning lights on mine. Jacked the rear up, started the car and pulled it into 2nd gear (automatic). Let it idle up to about 8-10 mph. The pump came on, the lights went out and never came on again. Worked for me. Hope this helps."
