It stayed in the right foot well. The BCM and Fuse box seems to be the only victims. I checked the driver's ground point with the 12 grounds, which is low on the driver's side, and it was dry, although the carpet was wet. I ordered a BCM from ebay, I hope it turns out okay. I think it came out of a 2001. Wish me luck on getting it programed. (turning on the key, on and off) it was in a thread.

The latest, for me is I finally got my BCM from eBay. I put it in, and things started working. What is not working now is no noise from starter, windows. It seems that everything else is working. Later today I am going to try the turn the key on for 11 minutes, off for 30 second, and repeat 2 more times. Or something like that. I have the tread that was posted and printed off. If I need to know anything else, maybe someone can give me heads up. I will let you know when I hear something under the hood that sounds like my engine running. Wish me luck. Ed

Just make sure the battery is fully charged or on a charger/tender while performing the relearn procedure. Good luck hope it fires up.

Hey Ed, just saw your thread. I went to the Copart lot a few weeks ago, and put eyes on the car you bought.

I ended up getting that 2004 CE Z06 that was at the Clewiston Copart lot. I brought it home here in Miami last week. My CE Z06 was fresh water from Estero River, however the water got up to the glove box.

So far I've got the interior completely gutted, drained all fluids, and starting to go through all of the electronics. Like you at minimum I'll need a BCM, Driver's Footwell Fuse panel, probably new door modules, and possibly a PCM. I cleaned the car up, and it's a mint car. Supposedly this is a 6K mile car, but not confirmed yet.

My advice BEFORE you attempt to start, drain ALL fluids: oil, coolant, trans fluid, diff fluid, fuel. Drop at minimum the lower bat oil pan and clean out, as well as both fuel tanks to drain out and clean. Replace the fuel filter. Remove all spark plugs, with compressed air blow out cylinders in case any water got into the cylinders (remember water doesn't compress), remove throttle body and clean out. Clean out intake if any water got in it. Replace all fluids with new fluids, filters, then after you've checked all, and double checked, attempt to start. Do take the time to go through all connectors that connect to the BCM, PCM, and make sure they are clean. Get some CRC QD electrical contact cleaner, brushes, compressed air to clean them. Then a bit of dielectric grease.

Good luck. I'll be starting a thread with the CE Z I got soon.

Rob

Windows not working is probably due to bad door modules. Each door has a door control module.

I had just replied, and somehow is disappeared. Anyway. I just did the 11 minute and 30 second Bcm thing. Results are:
I turn the key on and I have : Check Gages, check engine, air bag light, Service Column lock and Brake before shift lights that Alternate. Then I turn key to start: All lights go out except "check engine" Then there is silence., no click, no starter noise, nothing... turn the key back to on and the same lights come back on. Everything works, ie windows, radio, lights, hood light, fan, dash lights, interior lights, everything. Am I missing something else I have to do??? I had also installed a new battery with a battery tender hooked up to it. Any help would be appreciated. I am so close!!!

Good work- you are close!

The next thing that I'd do is to check you power to the starter and crank shaft position sensors. Both those items were under salt water and probably need to be cleaned and confirmed they are getting power.

Can you hear the TDR energize/click on, it is located on top of the BCM, the TDR or starter enable relay as its called is the best place to determine why the car is not cranking over. There are two wires on the TDR socket, a red and a violet that you can place a wire jumper between them and the starter should crank over, make absolutely sure the car is in Park because doing this bypasses that interlock. Sometimes the BCM relearn procedure has to be repeated especially if battery voltage drops to low, again good luck

I'll give it a try tomorrow. I do have a new battery on it, and it has a tender on it. So that is not going to be a problem. Thanks

Yes, I drove it around the block. Now I am waiting on Column lock relay. Still a few little bugs, but so far things are looking up. I cleaned all the electrical connections that were under the water. Boy does salt like electrical connections. I am learning a lot. Thank all you guys for helping me out. When I get everything fixed, I'll send pictures.

Congrats! Well done!

Consider the LCM5 to (permanently) fix your column issues. http://www.complianceparts.com/

Well, I have the Column lock message . I put it in gear give it gas, and it dies. My car is a 2004 with an automatic transmission. The kit says that I do not need it. I have changed the BCM because of the water level in the car. So is it because I have a different BCM, that I do need the LMC5??

Did you check the socket where the column lock relay plugs in, it could have corrosion. It might have something to do with the 2001 BCM, many corvette owners have had the 2mph shut down reprogrammed to 200, you will still get the column lock message. Your almost there.

I mentioned 2001 because that was what you had posted earlier, you can buy a LMC5 and try that, their only around 50 dollars and relatively easy to install.
