What is the best headlight option for better lighting on 2001 ZO6.

Don't drive at night. And if you do, I just exchanged the bulbs in the headlights and fog lights with brighter than OME ones. Big improvement without the expense of doing a headlight mechanism replacement.

I've been tempted by the Knight Drive TV headlights kit, but I had already upgraded my headlights a couple years before this kit existed. I went with ACA-reproduction headlights, and swapped in Morimoto Mini H1 projectors. Pretty good headlight output, but these headlights aren't low-rise like the Knight Drive kit. Low-rise will likely yield better aerodynamics which means improved performance and gas mileage.

Z06 wasn't factory-equipped with fog lights.

Adding Fogs would be a positive upgrade.

I've only briefly looked into doing this for my Z06. From what I've seen, it would be a decently expensive endeavor, such that putting that same money into upgraded headlights would make the addition of foglights nearly inconsequential. For example, a kit from Sharp Light Innovations to effectively retrofit foglights is $350+, which is nearly the price of the Knight Drive headlight kit. If I only had ~$400 to spend on a lighting upgrade, I'd pick headlights over foglights.

I just installed a used set of Sharplight Innovations Bi-xenon ACA headlights on my 02 z06. They are simply incredible. Infinitely better than the stock lights. My old Z06 now has lights that are as good or better than any new car I’ve driven. It’s a massive upgrade over the stock set up- there’s simply no comparison.

The newest version from Sharplight Innovations are LED, and apparently even better than my bi-xenon set up. You can’t go wrong with this set up.

We're currently on our 3rd generation of Bi-LED projectors. The current version is so much better than HID in all respects. Easy to install, perfect pattern and a modern yet classy look that is what GM should have put on the C5.

I bought RadioFlyer's Bi-LED ACA's earlier this year. They are AMAZING! I rarely use the brights, the low beams provide more than enough light to see everything. I have no issues whatsoever now driving mine at night. I will be getting a set for my dad's '02 soon!
