Crazy electrical issues after replacing headlight gear
So I’m having electrical issues with my ‘00 M6 coupe right now. I feel like I should clarify that I have LED lights, so I have to turn the high beams on to put the headlights down. I finished swapping out the passenger headlight motor gear and I turn the key into the “on” position in the ignition to make sure the motor now works alright (it did). I pull the key out of the ignition and open the door, security warning on the display starts going nuts and car is chiming. With the lights in the off position, the driver side low beam headlight is on, passenger is off. Taillights and side markers are also on. Really odd. Didn’t notice anything wrong with the connections that I messed with. Security is only an issue when key is not in ignition and door is open. If I turn the lights on to the first “click” (don’t know what you call it but it’s the one that turns on the display lights but not the headlights) then everything seems normal. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
