Default auto trans concern

I have a strange auto trans concern and wondering if anyone has/had a similar situation. After driving at freeway speeds for about 30 or 45 minutes with a steady 55/65 mph the torque convertor releases from lock up. If you accelerate you can feel the clutch engage. If you just do in town driving there is no problem. All gears shift positive and you feel the convertor clutch lock up at the correct speed. I did pull the pan for inspection and fluid change. Pan was clean and fluid clear red.

A misfire can cause this. Got any codes? If not, log for misfires counts.

No misfire codes stored when I did a code scan.

The A4 is not full of fluid unless-

The car is raised or on jack stands, engine running, transmission in park and transmission temperature 122 F -- and fluid drips out the open fill/ drain plug hole. The plug MUST be put back in before shutting down the engine.

No codes, lifted car on quick jack, checked fluid hot while running found it to be full. At a point that I might sell at a discounted rate!
