With the 3 mods I have, I went to Hallsville this weekend and ran a 11.992 @ 112.55. Yea, only 0.008 inside an eleven, but it still an eleven. The other runs were 12.07 and 12.20 @ 112 +/- 0.5 mph.
I am interested in others that have run an eleven with only the levels of mods I have in my signature. I know, I had perfect weather with high pressure and low temps, but when you have these conditions, you make the most of it!
Any other A4's with 11's with just a high stall, aftermarket air filter, exhaust mods with cats and DR's?
My next mods this spring will be a cam and some LT's.
Look to Vince (vstella) as he has an A4 and is knocking on the 10's door. He might even have knocked it down. Look him up as his webpage(s) show all his mods.......always nice and answers my questions too
That's amazing that you achieved 11's with those mods and only 327RWHP!!
Can't say enough about good air . :yesnod: Here in Florida we deal with humidity most of the year and the rain..I went with a new YANK SS3800 and will have it installed this week..Should net me mid 11's if the weather cooperates..low humidity and 60's would be nice..Traction is also a consideration..Sometimes it just works and sometimes the car needs help..Great job keep up the good runs:D
When it's time for the heads and cam..think about Agostino Racing in Toronto Wade Stevens KNOWS his stuff and has produced some wild packages for the LS1..just a suggestion.
BTW..did you get a video or timeslip you can share with us..? We would love to see it :yesnod: Not too many 11 second 4 's here..Welcome to the club!! All my videos are on my homep[age..take a peek...:D

Wow!!!! those are great times with the mods you have congrats. If my car ran that good when it was stock I would not have had to mod it so much   .
I believe Mikey C holds the record for the fastest A4 with stock internals, if memory servers he ran an 11.88 not too long ago.
I plan on going to hallsville this weekend and hopefully I will be close to you without spray. This time I will be carrying the et streets. BTW you ran some good times.

something to shoot for....current best of 12.564 with the addition of gears/converter/headers/drs should put me VERY close if not surpassing that mark :reddevil
It is Gary from Lewisville, remember we met off 635 for a TC Test Run. Man that is a great time!!! That is very imprressive. That gives me some realistic hope that I also can get into 11's when I add my 3.42's and a SY3500 or simmilar TC. I have an 01, and my dyno numbers are almost idetical to yours. I ran a best of 12.57 at 111 mph on stock tires just on that set up, so with cool air there is a chance. I will be happy with low 12's. I hope to at least take off .5 and get a real low 12 with the 3500 stall tc and gears. I knwo you run 3.15's which sometimes are really good matched with high stall TC's since they allow you to lay down the power easier.
After my TC & Gears I am definately considering getting a cam only with my stock heads, likely a Thunder Racing 220 or 224 .561/.561 on a 114 LSA.
Maybe when I get my car going I will contact you and meet you at the races and do a few runs with you. You are really into racing and getting good at it. That's great Roger. I guess your really getting good with the LS1 Edit.
Happy racing...............
The Bandit................. :D :D
Hi Roger, we have an 02 A4 Coupe customer who, I believe, has been running consistantly around 12.2's with 3.42's and a SY3500. I believe his only other mods are a Vortex and a Bassani 4 tip. He did get rid of the run craps... but I forget what kind of street tire he went with. That kinda gives you a comparison. Your car is solid. Congrats on your times :)
Thanks for all the nice comments. I was really pleasantly surprised at the 11, even the 12.07 would have been nice, but my Density program said we had an 11 in it if we got a near perfect run. In fact, it predicted, based on my earlier 12.12 at Ennis and the weather conditions at Hallsville, we would run a 11.996 @ 112.94 mph. We were pretty close!
Here are the time slip numbers for the 3 runs. Hallsville does not print out 330 and 1000 ft. times I guess.
Run 1
60 ft. 1.677 sec.
1/8 mile 7.696 @ 91.45 mph
¼ mile 12.073 @ 111.88 mph
Run 2
60 ft. 1.657 sec.
1/8 mile 7.639 @ 90.56 mph
¼ mile 11.992 @ 112.55 mph
Run 3
60 ft. 1.840 sec.
1/8 mile 7.881 @ 91.26 mph
¼ mile 12.268 @ 111.60 mph
Obviously, run 2 had the great 60 ft., launch between 2000-2300 rpm. I unfortunately do not know the STR of the converter, since when I ordered it, I just gave PI my stall requirements and the mods I would have eventually. I chose the Vigilante based primarily on the performance of a number of F bodies in the DFW area that were running deep into the 11's’with minimal mods. That was enough to make me choose the Vigilante. I knew it was a beast at the track, where I care about. Around the street , as long as you don’t tromp on the gas pedal too heavy , you would not know it had a high stall converter. The tranny temps in the summer rarely go above 190 degrees and only once did it reach 200, that when I was driving in stop and go traffic from Ft. Worth in the middle of August. If you know Dallas, it has horrible heat during that time. I think this combo is extremely efficient and my times seem to indicate that.
Because I had a 12.73 bone stock in weather (February ’02) slightly less optimum than what I had last Saturday, I knew this car could be fairly strong.
On one of my runs that my son made, I swore he almost pulled the right wheel nearly off the ground. It was not rotating as much as normal. An F body had lifted his right front wheel in the run before Jeff, so I was waiting to see how near he came. That would be something although kind of rare for just DR’s. BTW, Our average 60 ft’ time using DR's at Ennis, Royce City and now Hallsville, has been in the 1.7-1.8’s. This was the first time we have had any 1.6’s.
I do not have a video camera, so no videos. Guess I have to get one eventually since it would be neat to see my car from this standpoint.

Re: 11 sec. A4's (gary brown)
INCREDIBLE getting an 11 second time slip with your minimal mods! Congrats
I do know that the VIG hits HARD off the line and i do believe it has around a 2.5str (Similar to the Yank Superthruster 3500) and that explains your awesome 60 foot time.
It took me the following mods to get a mid 11 second C5 (at 117/118mph) on heads/cam and whatever else is listed below. That engine was just sold to make way for my MTI 427 Ironblock Stroker that is currently being built, which should be good for 10.7/10.8 time slips on motor (no GAS for me)! :smash:
Keep up the mid work and with heads and cam and headers you should be running 11.5s no problem with that great TEXAS Drag racing AIR!:D

Congrats on the 11´s with your mods.
That´s :smash:
I know how hard it is to get there with only these few mods.
I was able to do 12,2 with 2800 stall TC, and Vortex.
No runs at cool temps with that setup though.
