Over 3 years ago I went with the ATI 917246 to be a sort of "stock replacement" for the factory balancer.
If you haven't already seen it, this is ATI's application chart for LS engines: https://www.atiracing.com/products/d...ts/damserp.htm
The 917226 is the aluminum version of what I got, it's over 2lbs lighter. Otherwise it should function more or less identically (aside from probably having a little less damping capacity than the steel version).
I have been told that 917266 will not fit ls6 engine!!! Is there another part # for the ls6 ?
Who led you to think that? If you look at my link ATI shows 917266 to be compatible with LS1, LS6, LS2, LS3, etc.
Also 917266 will retain factory AC compressor.

The garage I am dealing with is saying that they had issue with this part# not aligning with the pulleys !!! I told something most be wrong in the installation procedure.
I do not know why the 917266 would not fit the C5 LS6; perhaps another Z06 owner will have more info.
The ATI chart gets a little hard to read when they start listing an OEM sizing and an under drive sizing for several engines. It also appears they indicate the 917304 for the C5 LS6 engine.
Perhaps you should go straight to the manufacturer (ATI), and ask.

Unless they supplied theCamaro LS1 crank pulley by mistake 🤔
I went with the ATI #917278 which is 10% under driven on my 02 Z06 and had no problems with belt alignment. The part # you mentioned should fit just fine but as someone else recommend, call ATI directly to confirm.

I emailed them & just waiting for there reply.
Thanks guys
Got this from ATI sent it to the mechanic.
( Hello,Thank you for contacting ATI Performance Products. 917266 should line up with factory corvette accessories on an LS wet sump motor. If the damper is sitting too far out from the motor, make sure that the damper has been fully pressed on. The damper is an interference fit to the crankshaft so it must be pressed on fully with an install tool until it bottoms out on the crank gear. )

That's what I was thinking as well, it should line up if the balancer is pushed on all the way.
