Default Fuse #22 Question

Hello Forum members,

I have a question that I am hoping you all can assist me. On a 2002 Corvette fuse #22 appears to be an accessory. Down by the fuse box, it appears that this consist of the following wires: an orange (constant hot battery), yellow (on with ignition), and black (ground).

From the factory was there some type of pig tail connector? If so, to me it looks like someone cut off the pigtail portion. Does anyone have a picture of this to confirm? Any one know where a new pigtail could be picked up?

Thank you.

That would be the plug for the optional CD changer in the trunk.

Thank you both. Does anyone by chance have a picture of the plug that is supposed to be by the fuse box for the optional CD player. I unfortunately have three cut wires and no actual plug/connctor.

Here's the whole body harness for you

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1998-C5-COR...edirect=mobile

In a worst case scenario, you can buy this whole harness & cut off the missing CD changer connector from it. Then splice that missing pigtail to your existing harness with butt connectors and heat shrink

Those 3 wires there on 97-03 cars to make it easy to add something like guages or what ever you want. My 02 has the changer and those 3 extra wires. Did you find them by the BCM and were they all taped up?

Yes. The wires are under the passenger side dash near the BCM and right around the blower motor. Someone wrapped them in black duct tape.

That's how mine were also. Fuse 11 controls one of them and IIRC there is another fuse associated with the other wire
Edit:
  • Yellow: switched via Fuse 11
  • Orange: always hot via Fuse 7 and
  • Black: ground

Fuse 22 is a 10amp unused circuit also and should be labeled BCM 3 in the fuse box and I don't think there is a fuse in that spot
