Wheel speed sensors again
BLUF: all appears normal after reset
TCS codes C1214H, C1225H, C1232H, and after pulling , Fluking, and replacing front wheel speed connectors, per those codes, got C1248(Rear wheel dynamic proportioning!) and historically, I replaced spindles with C6's per your recommendation IIRC, but used my current , then known, good bearings. and had great stopping for a few track days, and first two sessions on Friday, when this happened. So, it was a big intermittent, and I'm looking for root cause. What I do notice is the clips which hold the sensor and harness connectors are very loose and wiggly bilaterally. But, they have always been loose, as I have noticed on spindle and brake changes. Never seemed to cause an issue, and never an ABS light on.
Both fronts show 1.00x ohms at sensors, 52.x ohms at harness, .2xx+ mv when I rotate the rotors , and harness 5.03 v with key on. and no ABS light on dash. I had the ABS light after the incident. so I pulled each one, verified ABS light on. With "Fluke" on, wiggled the harnesses at frame connectors which are dirty and oily to see if resistance changed, it didn't, bilaterally.
No EBCM code.
With all connections made , reset TCS codes, now shows, "TCS, no codes". went to wheels, shook the wires, no ABS light and no TCS codes now.
and : CF: "When there is a problem anywhere in the system(with wheel speed signal) , the computer does not know what's going on with the car or cannot respond correctly. Rather than risking the wrong response which could potentially wreck you car, the whole system is simply disabled for the remainder of the ignition cycle. At this time you will see the ABS and Traction Control warning indicators illuminated on the instrument cluster along with the following messages on the Driver Information Center (DIC):
- Service ABS
- Service Traction System
- Service Active Handling
At this point, you can safely continue to drive your car, just remember that your electronic driving aids are no longer functioning so you should adjust your driving habits accordingly. " Car following got this view.
Well, all that happened braking from 140, so had about a ¼ second to think of all this, hence the black stripes.
Please let me know if more diagnostic info needed. thanks, fellas.
