I have a new to me 2001 C5 Convertible and have a couple questions.
1) The Reset on the reset button does not work on the DIC trying to change options. Any suggestions?
2) The A/C seems to blow less air than the right and the window on HVAC unit is very dim.
I have searched the forum but have not found any answers.
There are several Forum post and a some YOU TUBE videos on how to re-solder the small surface mount resistors back on the HVAC Control Unit circuit board.
Heres a good one. This guy has MANY excellent repair videos!!
You can try to disassemble the BUTTON Module and clean the small bubble switch to make that reset button work again. If not VETTENUTS Salvage may have good used parts for you. Great people.

Thanks.
The problem with the convertible is all of your electronics are exposed to the elements. I never drive in the rain, but I am pretty sure the guy before me was not so careful. I also don't park it in the sun all day. It's a 20+ year-old car with cheap GM plastics inside.. lol
My DIC had issues like that when I first bought mine, too. Eventually, none of the buttons worked, it would just make the blip sound when I pushed them but wouldn't change the menu. I ended up having to replace the whole cluster with a rebuilt one. This was a good opportunity for me to make sure new LED backlights were installed, and I did the solder mod on the HUD because it was dim all the time. I had to have a tuner program the actual miles, but other than that, it was just a full Saturday of pulling the dash out.
dainon: can you tell me where to buy a new DIC cluster of buttons?
Circuit Board Medics might still do it. I also heard Zip-Corvette does them. I don't know in the post-covid era, maybe they can't get parts anymore. I bought mine used from Corvette Recycling in Utah. It was used and not rebuilt. I installed my own light kit and took it to a performance shop to have the miles programmed to my old cluster. Like everything else, it is probably getting hard to find now days.

I have one. I just swapped clusters and the new cluster came with the DIC module. my old module is still good, so i have one just sitting. Let me know.
