Default Lowering Questions

I want to get my car to pretty much this exact fitment (pic) but i don’t know where to start. I’ve seen a lot of people saying use stock bolts and a lot saying use an aftermarket kit. What would you guys recommend? Also not opposed to coil overs but they would serve me no purpose as i don’t track the car and only do light roll racing very rarely. I’m also not opposed to changing wheel/tire sizes if that’s required.

The car pictured, IMHO, is a bit too low for everyday driving, however, to each his own. The problem with using that particular Corvette as an example of what you'd like, is that you most likely don't know what it's owner did to it. It might be lowered the max, on bolts, or it might have coil overs.

However, the major thing you have to consider, at this point in time, is that a C-5 Corvette's front adjuster bolts are screwed into threaded metal sleeves, similar to a product called "nut-serts". These sleeves are bonded to the composite leaf spring. A C-5 Corvette is now over 20 years old, therefore the adjusting bolts have been in place for so long, that trying to turn them might not be possible, and all you'd wind up doing is spinning the insert around in the spring. I'm not saying it WILL happen, just that it COULD happen. So think twice and be careful....

The rear set up, on the car, is somewhat similar but different enough that you wouldn't encounter this problem.
