I don't like the idea of anything less than a 50-50 mix of water and antifreeze. If your travels take you to a colder location, and they have a cold wave hit, you can ruin an engine. I have a family member that lives in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida......
I may have misunderstood the OP's question, but I took it to be asking specifically about his time driving in the parade. Your point is well taken for any length of time, but if the OP's concern is specifically during the parade, running a higher percentage of water (along with cleaning debris etc. from the front) may buy him the additional cooling that he's looking for.

Another consideration is the reduction in corrosion protection in mixtures < 50% coolant. If one is going to do this for heat-transfer considerations, the coolant-service interval should be shortened.
