Default Blue x on harmonic balancer

Was checking my white mark on my 2000 balancer today after a good drive and noticed a blue X on it. Does this mean anything. Thanks

Nothing that Im aware of. What white mark are you checking?. Hopefully it is one you made to see if the damper hub is slipping.

Probably something to gauge wobble, just keep an eye on it to be safe.

Thanks, it’s not on the area where the white mark is where you could tell slipping It’s on the lower part of the balancer area. Thought maybe it represented a certain product

Can you post a picture? And, are you the original owner of the car?

I can try to see if I can get the camera in there and no I am the 5th owner I believe. The bolt threads look like it’s been off sometime in the past.

If you’re looking at threads you must be in the middle of a balancer change — had the line shown slippage?

No I’m not changing it was just looking at my white line for slippage when I seen the X and you can see and feel rough edges on bolt like it’s been off. The x is between the bolt and the bottom of the balancer. No slippage detected

No, my apologies for being an ***. I should have recognized the inference.
Hopefully any wear or scuffing exhibited on the screw head is an indication that your balancer is newer than original.

yes that is what I’m hoping, thinking maybe it was changed sometime in its life but seen nothing with my Vin check through dealer or paperwork. Thought maybe someone would recognize the blue X, but don’t appear to be slipping so just keep watching it.

Just a factory mark. Mine had a green dot and so did my flywheel.

I did several factory tours and line technicians have colored markers that they use to identify a quality control or installation check that they accomplished. Its probably one of those checks.
