I'm the guy that had the low voltage, gauges acting wacky, parking lights flashing, etc. I removed all the trim and pulled out the ignition module. it appeared to be the original one, not all black. I took it apart and there were a couple of contacts that had some blackness on them so I lightly sanded as per Youtube video. Put it back together and installed. I turned the key and had nice steady bright dash lights and no flashing parking lights but when I tried to crank.... nothing. I'll take it apart again and see if I missed anything. There can't be a wire that I missed reconnecting as they are all in bundles.
Everything is still opened up so what's my next move? Also, putting all of that plastic back together will be a challenge.
Check for 12v on fuse 14 in the interior fuse box when the key is turned to the start position, it's possible that the Ignition switch contacts are not making up. Many forum members have had to bend the tabs for those contacts on brand new Ignition switchs.

Possibly some good news. I took the ignition module apart again and it looked good without any bent or misaligned parts. I hooked it back up and it wouldn't start. I jiggled the key switch all around and it started. I tried again and it would not start again and again. It seems like the key cylinder has a lot of slop in it. Could this be the problem? Are there contacts in the key cylinder that can go bad?
No contacts inside the key cylinder itself, the contacts that are for the starter are inside the switch module .they are the problem that's why I asked if there was 12v on fuse 14 when the switch is in the start position.
How do I test at fuse 14. Do I pull it out and put the meter probe in there and one to ground? I have to get someone to try to start it while I get the voltage. I should probably just get the new module.
You simply have to place the positive meter lead to the top of the fuse, there is a metal contact there, the other meter lead to ground it dosent matter to what side of the fuse. So most new ignition switch blocks are made in China and some are bad right out of the box.

My new ignition module arrived today, the all black version. How does one get the key switch out of the old module? It doesn't look like there any clips or anything to remove it.

Hi all,
I found a Youtube video on how to remove the key cylinder from the ignition module and that part went well. Putting the plastic trim back was the tricky part. The car started 5 times without any problems. I hope the new ignition module lasts for many years. Thanks to all that helped me through a fairly complex job.
