Hi all
I recently bought an immaculate 2004 convertible.
it is throwing TS c1282 and 1284 codes. From reading on here I nfind that 1282 is yaw rate sensor. Since I am pretty mechanical I bought a sensor and installed it this past weekend. I visually checked the connector and wiring and they looked fine.
when I reconnected the battery cable and started the car it still had the code and dash light. My question is does the new module need to be programmed or calibrated?
thx
A visual inspection is not good enough !!…you will have to transition from being pretty mechanical to “electrical” !!…diagnostic tree below !!..NO programming needed !!
Thank you for your reply and the information. I don’t currently have a scan tool, but it looks like that will be a necessary addition to my toolbox. Would a tech2 be a good choice?
I was chasing that yaw sensor issue for a while and found out that the connector to the sensor was not making contact intermittently. Search my earlier post on that in the tech forum. You made want to move the connector in the plug on the harness side to ensure contact. Our connectors are getting old.
