How much of a difference was just the tranny mount?
It’s noticeable, hard to say what is tolerable for others though. The only thing that bothers me personally is I now hear noises from the diff that I didn’t hear before. It is fairly annoying at cruising speed in 6th gear. Sounds sort of like a cat in a blender.
I love how the car feels since swapping the mount, otherwise that would probably bother me enough to go back to stock. I suspect (hope honestly) on a fresh quality diff the noise would not be an issue but it is for my tired old ~100k mile unit

Nah, my fresh RPM 3:90 gear diff whines like a cat in a blender also.... just at higher RPMs.
I have the SAC City diff mount. Ya get what ya pay for. It's an improvement but there are better solutions out there.
Was there any cat in a blender diff whine with it?

I briefly had a Hinson diff mount on my C5Z, with stock motor mounts. There's a reason it was brief
Currently I have Vibra-Technics motor mounts which are an awesome compromise. Not really any more noise, and just a smidge more vibration at low RPM. Totally tolerable for a DD. Still with stock diff mount.
You're going to get very different experiences from various people. A friend and I have been tuning in his 427/D1SC vert with stock motor mounts and hinson diff mount. I haven't noticed any noise but it is a vert with a noisy supercharger.
He also has a C5 with AMT engine mounts, stock diff mount, and a Pfadt poly A-arm bushing kit. The car has heads and cam and rocks at a red light. I'd still be fine on a road trip. We did take the car on about 2 hour cruise which included I285 around the Atlanta airport, not the smoothest road.
I am on Hinson mounts, Pfadt trans mount and poly in the a arms installed by the prior owner. It had some whine but developed a louder whine. We'll have to dig in and see what caused it. I think the diff maybe on the way out but it could be other things.
If you go with Hinson engine mounts, I very much recommend some sort of heat wrap. You can use the cloth type wrap and some cheep metal zip ties or buy something pre made to size. Heat from headers have damaged the poly in the mount..
IMO aftermarket mounts have more down side for most owners than upside, unless you are seeing track time. The good news is engine and trans mounts can be put back to stock unlike A arms.

Were you able to keep the stock motor mount heat shields?
