Default Shift linkage help
I want to replace my bushings so my shifter no longer has play in it. I don’t know how to get this seperated and need some expert help. Car barely wants to go into park, and drive has play in it.

Need help getting to the bushing in this

Looks like it just pops off.
Try a flat screwdriver between the two.

it did pop off with the Flathead. Maybe that one was a no-brainer Many thanks!

Replace the rear one also. It is the one subject to high heat from the exhaust pipe right underneath.

I put some HeatShield insulation around the exhaust pipe below the rear shift cable bushing to increase longevity of that bushing.
