Hey all, got the cam and head install done last week and drove the car over the weekend. It’s an absolute blast! Now, I don’t know if it’s possible this changed the sound (other than overlap at idle of course) but it seems louder. Headers, catless X pipe, and borla straight pipe was fun for the past 6 months or so but gosh it’s just a lot. I’m debating best ways to remedy without buying a new unit. I’ve put it up for trade but I was also thinking about a generic magnaflow/cherry bomb/etc from a local auto parts store? If I cut into the last foot of piping and clamped it in I could swap a few out to try for fun I think.
I also learned about J pipes and I also saw a CTSV with a big U in each pipe in one example and am wondering if this alone or this in addition to mufflers would help in any way. Open to suggestions! I know there are a lot of sound clips out there but of course finding your exact setup is always tough.
