thank you I basically have it set up like that with my own hose desgin without a catch can and it has slowed down the oil issue but has eliminated it to a acceptable standard, going to go after the pcv system under the valley cover next to see if thats the issue. Thank you all for the help
While you're checking the valley cover, get the ground truth by looking at the part number.
As has been mentioned already, the 2001-2003 LS6 valley cover (12568002) requires a PCV valve, but the 2004 LS6 valley cover (12577927) does not.
The difference between the LS1 vs '01-03 LS6 or the '04-05 LS6 PVC systems can be clearly seen n the Elite Engineering installation instruction sheet diagrams for their catch can system..
So I removed the valley cover to inspect the pcv system and it was completely removed, The shop that did my cam apparently didn't know what they were doing and said you are supposed to remove it with the cam..... I know multiple cammed ls with it still in so. I had extra old gen valve covers and ran the pcv the old way for now. Ever since I've switched over made multiple hour long drives and the car has been fine and hasnt consumed anymore oil.
