I've been driving my car daily without any issues, she runs like a beauty. Although today when going on a drive I noticed that my pop up headlights for my passenger side are bouncing up and down rather than going up fully. Does anyone know what this could be? I personally believe its a stripped gear inside the headlight motor but I could be wrong, any ideas?
(could this just be that the plastic gears deteriorated with time?)
Great thanks, Just checked the arm, it seems to be intact so it must be the gears, any specific recommendations? I heard brass gears are somewhat decent.
I read where while the brass gears are stronger, should the assembly ever get stuck or a foreign object blocks the up/down motion the motor will continue to run and that brass gear won't "snap" causing damage to the assembly. If you go plastic let me know. I have one I can send you gratis..................
also check the plastic stops, they get indented and or fall off which will cause the shaking....you can pull them off and flip them over.....I may have some laying around you can have for free if you need them ...provided I can find them
Best thing you can do is remove the bezel and raise the lights so you can see everything.....give them a shake and see what appears loose. If nothing in the mechanics seems loose or sloppy then its probably the gears. You can use the **** to manually raise the light and you will know if there is slop in the gear
