Hey everyone! I was wondering if anybody has ever replaced just the upper portion of the steering column. I came across this yesterday when I removed the steering wheel and was originally going to just replace the whole assembly but saw that I can just buy the upper portion. Thanks!
Mark the clock spring so you don't turn it over when you put it back remove that washer Using special tools to release the pressure to remove the ring Remove the ring Than remove the plate and the plastic piece Remove HEADLIGHT / TURN SIGNAL / CRUISE CONTROL LEVER bolt's (2003 Auto US build don't have Steering Wheel Lock) Release that spring by pushing down screwdriver Remove that PIN from the both side by finding a screw Allen key . You need to take out that PIN by tightening the screw in Remove the bracket after the that
All done
That good because the ball are removable from shaft to other shaft if needed. and it's very complicated if somebody missed the original direction when he put it because the shaft doesn't fit as before ...
Make sure to take some pictures or video when you remove the original shaft in case of you forget how you put back the shaft
