Default 1999 vert

After 14 years with my 95 coupe, I bought a 99 vert 6 speed. Can anyone tell me why the 'security' light seems to stay on. Also, sometimes when I start it the engine starts right up, but dies when I attempt to move the car forward. After a few times stalling like that it will finally move normally. Thank you for any help

Most likely the contacts in the Ignition switch that press against the keys resistor pellet which are part of the VATS. Do you ever see the pull key wait ten seconds message? The stalling is the 2mph fuel cut off that GM programed to address the column lock problems with the C5.

I also get message, (pull key wait 10 seconds) what is the fix? How do I prevent this from popping up?

Best fix is to buy the LMC5 column lock bypass, takes very little time to install and they have great customer service.
