My 99 manual transmission frc is cranking over then dying. Sometimes it will run for a second sometimes die literally the second it cranks. I have no codes but in my dash I have the “remove key for 10 sec” prompt. I had a shop look at it, I had maf and ckp codes but they fixed those. They found a bent maf pin and fixed it then the car ran. I drove it two days in a row… now its doing it again. Is this column lock? I have no idea atp. Tia
Not battery or alternator related, I belive it's still related to the maf, or fuel related problem, and since you don't have codes it's not a seriel data buss problem. Might think about taking back to the shop.
Sounds like it is not capable of reading BCM DTCs. When you get a "pull key and wait 10 sec" message, and pull key and turn ignition back to on, that should generate a "service column lock" message on the DIC and set a DTC.

so im looking for it and it doesn’t seem to have it. What I did notice is the car seems to crank over for slightly longer after moving my steering wheel whether thats turning it or changing the position on the column

It the engine cranks there is nothing wrong with the clutch switch.
okay. Yeah idk this is a hard one. It doesn’t make sense that it cranks up enough for me to rev after moving my steering column a bunch. Maybe something is grounding out?

I think you are chasing a ghost there.....I would focus on the data you have.
