The older C5 power steering pumps had the solid plastic pulleys pressed on that covered at least one pump mounting bolt. The pulley needed to be removed from the pump to access the bolts but the pulley being plastic would usually break and come off it's metal insert when being pulled off the shaft. The fix is to remove the old pulley from the pump shaft and then the pump from the engine but order the later all metal pulley that has openings in it so tools can pass through to the pump mounting bolts. Pulley removal and install tools can be borrowed from Auto Zone. here's a link https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...rive-pics.html

Turn one steering does a great job rebuilding the pumps. Jeff roethlisberger is the man.

So the pulley I have is metal , Were you able to remove the pulley from the pump while the pump was still installed? The abs unit is right in the way of where the puller needs to go.

I have a metal pulley, I just don’t think the puller will fit with the abs directly across from the pulley?

Gotcha. I did mine with everything apart when doing my supercharger. I have seen it changed by disconnecting the pump lines and removing it with the entire support bracket assembly after removing the alternator.
