Default Original water pump. Replace or not?
Hello,
Recently surge tank hoses went bad, than radiator started leaking...all fixed now
Should I replace water pump preventevely?No leaks all working fine, original.
Btw, GM OEM still available?
1998, 95000 miles
Thanks!
P.S. Does the old saying...If it's not broken don't fix it applies here?

With some exceptions ......but by and large..yes. If you have a stock engine......the water pump is easy to change anyway. Leave it alone.

I say change it. You've already got everything drained and hoses out, it's easier to do it now. It could leak from the old gasket or a tired impeller.

Let it go if the damper has not been changed. That is the best time to do it.
