Base 99 (owned since new) had a Z06 clutch in it for 20 years. Slave started leaking. Spoke to two Chevy dealers service techs and selected the one I thought knew what they were doing. More on that later.
No clutch available from GM. Asked for a comparable Z06 replacement. They installed a Valero upgraded clutch with stock slave cylinder. Clutch pedal pressure much higher than "normal". New slave failed after 5,000 miles and 18 months. Dealer won't do anything about that.
My argument is that they installed the wrong assembly and the slave was not compatible with the pressure plate.
Any input, other than choose my repair source more carefully. Also, any stock replacement clutch assembly recommendations.
