I used an aftermarket long bolt for the rear and it worked just fine. On the advice of forum members I lowered the front end by cranking down the A arm bolts. It worked but has left me still higher than I would like. The car is low but looking closely it would appear that the front end gap is bigger than that of the rear. How can I lower the front further? :chevy
With my 2k Z51, I cut the 2 washers off the bushings leaving about an 1/8" pad of rubber on the contact head of the bolt. This gained about 1/2" on the adjusting bolt. I screwed the bolt all the way in, and this gained about another 1/2". Total drop on the front end was 3/4", so you get less than 1 to 1. Do I want more drop? Hell no. The front spoilers drag at a lot more places. It is just not practical for the street to go lower. The bottom of the spoilers are really close to the ground: just look at the C4's and other sports cars and you'll see the C5 is just about the lowest ground hugger there is.
