I have a ‘98 Corvette that seems to have transmission heat problems. When I drive 20+ miles on a warm (75 degrees) day and stop briefly it will start right away but stalls when I put it in gear. It will restart and drive normally after about 20 minutes of rest. It has been suggested that I have my transmission fully flushed and the heat sensor replaced. Can anyone verify that?

What does the transmission overheating have to do with the engine stalling? ...and why do you think the trans is overheating? Please provide full history and detail.

Sounds like a dumb suggestion to me. Don't take your car there to have it worked on.
When the car stalls are you able to restart and the car runs normally if you don't try to move it?
There is a 2 mph fuel cutoff related to the security system. If that were triggering you might see the security light illuminating on the dash. Car should not stall immediately upon being put in gear though, it should run enough to move the car very, very slowly.
