Default Evaporative Emission System Cleaning (EVAP)

Hi, my Corvette C5 is showing error code P0446.

Before I buy a new sensor, I’d like to try cleaning the EVAP (evaporative emission) system.
Is there any guide for that? Do you have experience with it?
Or should I just go ahead and buy a new sensor?

Thank you for any advice.

Cleaning the EVAP system ??…never heard of that…and how do you need you need a new sensor ??…you can have a clogged canister or a blockage at the vent valve…are you using a factory level or equivalent aftermarket scan tool ??…with the gas cap removed and engine off do see you about 1.5 volts on the fuel tank pressure sensor ??

I found this older discussion about this error code. It’s possible that I misunderstood something. The guy who was dealing with this code wrote that he replaced the fuel tank pressure sensor. I would really appreciate it if you could advise me on the exact first steps I should take before buying a new sensor. Thank you very much

First step what is the model year of your car ??…not all C5’s are the same…I saw in a previous post you have a 1997…as a new member can you put this info as a minimum in your profile as shown below ??…I don’t even see a P0446 listed in Service Info until 1999…below is the troubleshooting chart for a 1999…don’t just shotgun parts until you diagnosed this per the chart.

"Thank you for the heads-up.
I’ve corrected the information. Hopefully, everything is now accurate and correct.

My Corvette is from the year 2001
