So I’m here in Florida, keep car out a couple nights between going to brothers place and daughters place no garage unless storing it’s when I leave. The other day wipers came on when I started the car up, they would park. Drove 25 minutes 15 minutes into the drive they shut off. Did this about two three times. Should I pull should look at connections, thinking moisture or lots of water hit wiring. Anybody else experienced this?
If it rained a lot, the wiper motor might have been submerged from the cowl flooding causing erratic operation. If that's the case then it should dry out if not rained on a lot again. Check the cowl for debris like leaves in the drain udders.
Same thing happened to me several years ago on a trip. I had to stop and pull the fuse to get them to shut off. I had to leave it outside my garage for a few weeks prior to this happening. I cleaned debris out of my drain udders, allowed some time for things to dry out, and have not had any more trouble since. After that, I resolved never to leave the car outside for such a long period again, but it was really a matter of those drain udders being so clogged with debris that the area housing the wiper motor/control board couldn't drain properly. Hopefully that is all there is to your problem too. Good luck.
