Corvette c4 2004 interior and rear lights issue

Hello All,

I have an issue with my corvette c5 2004, all the lights works indivually, when you open the door all the interior lights work but it doesn’t when you switch the lights at night. The rear lights work when you open the car, brake or when you use the indicators but it doesn’t when you switch on the lights at night. Also the front fog light doesn’t work but they work when you open the car, I check the fuses and every things is ok. The only lights that work are the front ones. I would like to check the Lights switch before buy a new one or if anyone experienced this issue before. I will be very appreciate

I'd like to help but I don't understand the problem.
Does your instrument panel brightness control **** on the left side of the dash function normally?

thanks for the hand! When in turn it on the courtesy lights switch on but the cluster, radio or window batons does’t, the thing is here when I open the door everything works good.

same with the rear lights, when I open de car every thing works, same when I press brake, indicator or reverse but when I switch on the lights at night the number plate and tail lights doesn’t works.

Given that your door affects the problem I would check the wires that run through that accordion and where they connect to the door module. Some of the pins at the connector can spread and make a poor connection and inside the wire bundle have been known to chafe or break and cause issues.

Find an automotive electrical specialist in your area so you’re not changing a bunch of unneeded parts…good luck !!…all electrical issues are different !!

Check the light switch on the stalk. Had to take mine apart and clean. The tail lights, tag lights and fog lights did not work. After cleaning everything worked as it should

I had the car two weeks with the battery disconnected and then the issue started. I think it could be the lights switch. Anything I have to keep an eye when I take it apart ?
