1998 I'm fully bypassed. Car has been sitting a few months, battery disconnected. Hooked it up, fired right up, swapped cars out and drove great to lunch. After lunch... didnt want to start, took 3 tries because it kept stalling. Finally fired over and ran fine but the message persisted in the DIC the whole ride. Reset got rid of it for a few seconds but kept coming back. Went straight home and put it on charge. Is it normal for the message to persist? Never had this happen before.
I'm supposed to take it to St. Augustine for the ancient city show Saturday and would prefer a drama free drive

Barring any issues with the ignition switch, voltage being out of spec, or something wrong with the bypass itself, the relays in the BCM that control the whole column lock circuit can and do fail. This will leave you stranded even if you have the bypass in place. There's a thread about it here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...d-diagram.html
When turn your key over to the on position, do you hear a series of clicks from the BCM? Might have to take off the footwell cover to make the clicks easier to hear.
the column lock/warning signal is very voltage sensitive, and batteries may seem fine to you.. If you got your bypass from Compliance Parts, CALL RICHARD-best customer service in the business. It might be a simple solution.
