Default Help. Not starting

Hello all!

I had this issue just now. Battery checked, okay.

The shifter is moving easily. Looks like it's stuck in Drive gear, not allowing to start.

Could someone help me, please?

So, the little plastic clip on one end of the shifter cable or the other is broken, so the trans is not shifting to park or neutral, so it won't start.
And, if it did, you couldn't drive it anyway, since it will not shift into the proper gear.
Do a search on here for broken shifter cable.

I had secured the end of the cable with a zip tie for now, but I don't know the extent of the damage caused when I broke the cable while pulling it up. I'll check when I open it to replace the bushing.

Thank you!

Be sure to check the transmission end of the cable too, it is very close to the exhaust, so the heat can kill the plastic end.
The shift cable setup was not one of GM's better engineering accomplishments.

For that, I need to lift the vette... I'll buy a ramp or jacks.

I was reading, even Chevy and GMC trucks have the same issue, but they are easier to access and replace.

Which do you guys think is better to have access underneath in a small garage?

Hydraulic

Jack

I think the links didn't work...Following the full links - they are still not working... I don't know how to post links here... So, here are Screenshots, sorry for my ignorance.

Personally, I would not do either of those setups.
I use a low profile HD floor jack and jack stands I bought from Harbor Freight.
Much heavier duty than those you posted, stout enough to do jobs on my F250 as well.
Too much strength is better than too little.

Purchased it and left at mechanic shop for replacement.

I'll buy these, but for the cable replacement I preferred do it in a mechanic shop. But the guy is crazy busy. My verte is there since Friday.
