Tech 2 is showing these codes yet the check engine light has not come on. I can't recall if these also came up in the DIC readout - if they show in Tech 2 should they also come up in the DIC? This is a 2000 with 87k and I can't recall if sensors have ever been changed...

Does your Tech 2 show these DTC's as current or history ??...if history just erase them...both of these 2 DTC's are "2 Trip DTC's"...the fault must happen on 2 consecutive ignition cycles where it is failing for the MIL to illuminate...your O2 sensors are "lazy"...may be an exhaust leak or 2 bad sensors...sorry but can't diagnose this for you.

Good to hear from you! I don’t recall these codes showing up in the DIC but they did in the Tech2. Also in the Tech2 I don’t recall codes showing up as H & C like they do in the DIC.
In he DIC I had some H codes for things like skip shift. I erased all codes and made a two hour trip - when I came and rechecked the H codes came back. I thought that erasing them would remove them forever.
The 1133 and 1153 shown in the Tech2 were not found after the two hour trip.
I need to find a tutorial on the use of Texh2 - while poking around it appears to access many functions accessible by no other means. I have used the ABS solenoid test and also the fan motor relay test.
