I've seen them from about $90 to $300. The $90 one is small and welds in and the ones about $250 bolt in.

The main one you will see are the ones by Corsa, Bassani, and Magnaflow. I looked around for a long time before I got one, and if you look at all three of them side by side, you can clearly see that the Magnaflow is the straightest and best flowing X-Pipe. You can get a good deal on one from Shawn at the LAPD, a forum vendor.

:iagree:

The only drawback to the Magnaflow is the slag that the manufacturer left in the tubes. I cleaned it up prior to installation.

I'm thinking about an X pipe also for my 02 6spd vert. Will it help cut down on the popping I get when I decelerate and more importantly what will it do to the sound of my quad tip stingers? If it kills the agressive sound forget about the X pipe.

Does the magnaflow bolt right in on a stock car or is there cutting and welding required?

A x-pipe will not help resonance.

I'm running a Bassanti and it was $299. I chose it because I thought it was a better design and higher quality than the others like Corsa that I had seen.

You can't go wrong with either of the main three. I chose the Magnaflow.

I'd check out West Coast Corvette for a great price.

I originally had the Borla quad-tip without changing the X-pipe and had a lot of popping and gurggling on deceleration. Just this week I installed the Magnaflow X-pipe (thanks for the recommendation from Shawn at LAPD).

The X-pipe didn't eliminate all of the popping and gurgling but cut it down by about 80 or 90% which made it much more tollerable (this is my daily driver). I won't say it necessarily quieted it down for cruising but it made it MUCH, MUCH smoother for cruising and generally enjoying. But when you step on it, the WOT experience and sound is still there and still attracts a lot of attention.

I know everyone has their own opinions. Just wanted to share my experience on the subject. I would recommend the X-pipe.
