Alignment After Lowering???
[Modified by 99C5Richie, 11:13 AM 3/15/2003]
1. Where did you get it aligned?
2. How good a job did they do?
3. Did they give you before/after readings? If so, I am real curious what they were.
4. Did you notice the difference?
5. And if you don't mind, how much did it cost? (we are local)
I have been thinking I should get mine aligned, I lowered to the bottom
of the stock bolts a year and a half ago.. it feels better than before and the
tire wear improved too.

1) Wheel Works up here in Concord, CA
2) On a scale of rate 1 - 10, (10 being the best) I give them 7 at best.
3) Yes, they show before and after specs, Not sure if I've still got the sheet, but I'll let you know if I find it... nonetheless, I had them do oem C5 specs. They tried to hit all the specs I asked for but couldn't... but I do know they tried. They didn't mind me standing there for the hour watching them either.
4) Well, when I lowered my ride, I couldn't get the lower A-Arm to drop, so I had to drop the upper A-Arm and disconnected the tie-rod end bolt... that really messed up my alignment... so, yeah, I did notice a differance...
5) Of course, I don't mind... I paid about $175ish, I got the customary BS markup on that it's was lowered quite a bit... but oh well, at least I knew the cost before driving over there....
Next time, I'm thinking of going up to Roseville and have C5Stein's shop do the alignment... Mark knows his stuff....
:yesnod:
Can you explain how you lowered the car? Do you mean that you didnt have to buy any kit or springs? How is the ride and how do I do it? How far is the drop? Thanks

Thanks for the good words. We work really hard to make alignments work for the way each of you guys (&girls) drive your car. We have electronic scales for those of you looking for the most accurate setup and have laser alignment equipment that many of the Mascar and ALM teams use to setup their cars. I've been setting up Road Race, Drag Race and street car suspensions for 20 years.

You own one of the premier production sports cars on the planet, and need to understand that if you modify it you should completely accomodate for that modification to preserve the performance of the car.
If you think the Z-06 is a piece of crap, you're probably better off to sell it to someone who will appreciate it. Just my .02 Good luck either way.
