I'm still on the fence on whether I should get 3.42s or 3.73s. I think the best way is to put it on a dyno and decide then. Chris from ECS- you got that dyno fired up or what??????

Nice radical upgrade going to the 4.10 on the A4. You are in fact only the third A4 that i am aware of on this forum to have gone to the 4.10. First was red 98 C5 and second was KWIQ8Racer 422 ironblock, oringinally owned by BLACKTHUNDER out near you in Jersey.

WIll be interesting to see how much the 4.10 shaves off of your 11.6 time. I say cars good for 11.4 something now. I also suggest you start saving for your FLP or other upgraded tranny b/c you seem to be on borrowed time with the stock A4 tranny in your DRAG MACHINE! :yesnod:

Goodluck,

WOW! Really?

I'm only turning about 1100 - 1200 at 60 MPH with 3.42's and MN6. 6th is just barely usable at 60.

No wonder those damn Z06's are so quick. :jester

I now have 39 miles on the 4.10 rear and can answer the question that concerned me the most.

RPM at Crusing.

My 3.42 had me at 1900 at 60 mph with an increase of about 125 per 5 mph
My 4.10 has me at 2100 at 60 mph with an increase of about 150 per 5 mph

Nice chart Edgar  I'm asumming you were in D? Because in 3 I'm at 3000 RPM's at 70 MPH

For comparison the rpms at 70 mph in 6th with different gears are: 3.42/1520 3.73/1663 3.90/1734 4.10/1823

Conversely, at 2000 rpms in 6th, the speeds are:
3.42/92 3.73/84 3.90/81 4.10/77

Obviously these are for the stock manual transmission, not the A4.

REDGAR:

How do you like the 4.10s so far or are they not yet installed. Any 1/4 blasts with the 4.10s yet? Looking forward about hearing how much it shaves off your ets.

Pros ....picked up about 2 mph in the 1/4
Cons....lost 3 mpg on the highway
Cons....+3000 rpm at 78 mph
Pros...much quicker reponse to throttle on the street (like I needed that?)

jury still out...60' track was not hooking well this weekend
jury still out...ET improvement....have not gotten it to stop hitting the rev limiter in 1-2 or 2-3 yet. (freakin autotap kept failing me to identify settings)
