Not the best of subjects right now. I guess this was all to be expected though. I am sure there are happy FLP customers out there, but right now the focus seems to be on the people who received defective headers in this last production run. If you are on the fence about what to do, I would hang out for a couple of weeks and see what comes of all this...

So I take it that every set is defective.
Mine has been fine, but buying mine from LAPD I am sure if something like this were to happen I would be taken care of :yesnod:
I did send an e-mail to the boys at FLP back in November 02' bringing up some quality issues with pictures and asking some questions. I never got a response, so I hope they got it.....they read it ;)
Here is my FLP install page, talks about many of the issues you see listed today...........http://temp.corvetteforum.net/c5/30s..._EXHAUST.shtml
I got a good price on my FLPs, and would buy them again. I would just check them over real good before the install, just like I did the first time!
They have a set that would fit my 99' GMC..........Hummmmmmmmm Oh Shawn

I just took my defective set of FLP's off the vette yesterday-couldn't handle the smell from the leak.

At least now I can still go to my track events:) until the replacements come in

You had to take them off anyway to replace them... might as well do it now so you can enjoy your car at the events in the meantime. :) I have missed so many fun times because my car was being modded... I almost went out and bought another Corvette just to have as a spare!

has anybody else here tried applying soap on the flanges?

I tried but no bubbles. I was told because my box that the headers shipped in were white, that i do have this problem.

i can hear a tick under load, however when i rev the car in neutral (not under load) no tick is evident

anybody else buy March Headers from FLP and have them installed?

damn, i gotta re-install them

No I'm not on the fence, I received my FLP Headers on March 10, 2003. They are DEFECTIVE and have been returned to FLP. I'm trying to find out if all the March Headers are Defective or did someone win the LOTTO and get a good set. :mad

Well, got my baby back today, guys told me there were leaks not only by the air tube but also by the 02sims. Glad I didn't drive it around! I knew that smell had to be something other than just "new header" smell
