Please don't take offense, but your data is a mess. :)
You still don't get the test data do you? I tried not to be confrontational, but it seems like you are hell bent on continually saying the data is flawed. Its not, you cannot understand it (or the need for it) thats all and it seems like you aren't prepared to try.
I am not sure what you think I need help with?
You need help with a couple of things:
1) Understanding data analysis.
2) Scientific product evaluation.
I am not interesting in getting into a long winded debate on this so this will be my last post on the subject.
I'm glad its your last post as you certainly didn't contibute much and frankly I'm getting tired of being nice.

Oh, and by the way, please don't take offense. :)

Interesting read. :yesnod: Debating on swapping my 2000 to a Vararam and big MAF from a ported MAF and Blackwing. Think I may do it if I ever get the $ for heads and cam and do it all at once

I wanted to get out of this thread but this ridiculous post certainly deserves a response. I am not sure why you feel the need to be “confrontational”.
First of all you neglected to log BARO in all of your logs. That fact alone makes your entire dataset invalid. If BARO goes up then your MAP will go up even if you make absolutely no changes. Secondly you changed the MAF at the same time. Lastly you said the car knocked pretty easily after you replaced parts and you “haven't got much Vararam WOT data for comparison.” Geez, the whole point is to compare before & after WOT pressure levels at a high speed. These facts ruin your dataset and I’m still not sure why you would bother to measure MAP at part throttle. Part throttle MAP is affected by engine vacuum.
You post claims I need help with the “Understanding data analysis” and “Scientific product evaluation”. You are joking right? The key to scientific evaluation is a controlled test environment with as few variables as possible. Your test has no control whatsoever. What was the BARO? What type of drive cycle was this data captured on? Were both datalogs created with the same exact style of driving? You do know that matters, right? Where are the transition points in your data? I assume you are aware that if you lift in the middle of a log line the MAP reading probably belongs to a different TPS. The fact that you grouped the data by TPS (and even rounded values) makes it impossible to see what was going on.

Just knew you wouldn't butt out like you said you would.

You seem to have latched onto Baro. Baro in So Cal between two sunny Sunday afternoons varies maybe 1 or AT MOST 2%. I've tried it and it make no flippin' difference that's why I didn't bother. I even made a comment in an earlier post to try to get you off THAT bandwaggon but you just couldn't drop it could you. Now you on the other hand where its snowing one day and 90 the next it might - you'd have to try it (and temperature and humidity). You moan about the data set being too complicated yet you moan about not including Baro. You are welcome to your opinion, now butt out and let anyone else who's interested have a chat. I haven't attacked your results, and believe me I could. So take your opinion, and do what you promised and butt out.
There are problems with the data set I posted, but you haven't spotted them, and if I were doing it again I would try to correct for that. (and I certainly wouldn't post them here) But all in all the results give a reasonable idea of MAP before and after Vararam.
I'll even leave on a nice note:
You are evaluating for a very restricted set of circumstances ie. a quarter mile run.
I've evaluated for a much wider set of circumstances. Both under relatively fixed conditions. Lets leave it at that eh?
Congrats guys, you pretty much killed this one. I now know why anyone who has anything in detail to discuss will only do it offline. Guess I learned my lesson.
PS Took a look at Yellows personal advertising site and saw Mr. Yellow in the virtual flesh -'bout shat myself - NOT. No wonder you've got a mouth on you on the internet as there's no way you can in real life - He He.
Buckmaster:
I'm not sure. I didn't ask that outright of Vararam. However, talking to my local smog guy he was vague as to whether it actually fell under CARB restrictions and thought that it did not. He said that personally he wouldn't have a problem passing it on a visual.

While those are certainly not my best pictures, they were taken after about 4 hours of sleep, and 3 hours of cleaning my car for the show. As far me and my mouth, check the pics again. I'm 6'1'' and 190 lbs in that picture. It was taken in the summer, when I do alot of cardio. In the off season, I lift more and go between 200-205 lbs. 10% body fat. I've been an athlete all my life, playing football, basketball, soccer, running, and weight lifting. Sorry, but I find it funny when a self described "geek" takes pot shots at me. Let me know if you ever make it out to the east coast, we could finish this conversation in person.
Bill, thanks for the defense, but I can handle this without forum interference.
