Default low coolant sensor

Does anyone know if in fact the low coolant sensor for a '99 does not come with a new coolant tank? I was told that to replace the sensor, I would have to purchase a new tank. I just had the tank painted! :cry

Have you tried to clean sensor? Grim build up on sensor bulb can cause problems.
Also check your wiring connections.
Good luck

I had my sensor replaced at my dealer last year and did not include tank.

Sensor is under bottom of tank and hard to get at but it was throwing a code when full so the dealer replaced the sensor only.

I'm not sure if this will help or not....my "low coolant" on the DIC came on in my car (98 coupe) I thought I had plenty of coolant in the tank. Apparently not. I added more till the entire tank was almost full. I did leave a little room at the top for expansion. No problem since then.
