Bought new wheels and had Discount Tire mount new tires on them. :smash:
They broke one of my wheel sensors and replaced it before they told me about it. That part was ok, but I am not sure they got the right one. The manager told me it was a little bigger than the other sensors and now that sensor isn't working with the computer. Is there a learning procedure to go through when you replace a sensor.
Anybody had any experience with this problem??
There is a re-learn that must be done. It can be done with a large magnet and following the instrucs on the DIC.
However, they may have gotten the wrong sensor. The sensors for years 97-00 and 01 and newer (I believe this is the breakdown...if I'm wrong, somebody will chime in) are diferent. They may have gotten the wrong sensor. One way will tell for certain...get a big magnet and try to get the new sensor to register on the DIC.

it sounds like the wrong sensor.
the 01- 03 sensors are smaller then the 97-00 sensors.
you need to check with discount tire and find out the part # of the sensor they installed and then check that # at the dealership.
Thanks for the replys guys! It sounds as if Discount tire put the wrong sensor in, since the already told me it was bigger than the other three.
I read the relearning procedure, and my understanding is you have to relearn all wheels, but where do you get one of those funny loking magnets??

Thanks, Jim
You have speakers in your door panels and in the rear, breakout and rip up door panel in an emergency!
Initially, I thought the magnet had to be very large/powerful. I couldn't seem to find anything in that description, so I bought the largest magnet home depot had on their shelf...it was well less than $5, and that did the trick. It was not nearly as big as I thought I would need. The relearn process requires you do it to all 4 tires I believe, but it only takes a minute. :yesnod:
